Education and Training Officer
IRETA seeks a full time skilled Education and Training Officer to lead and develop its training and education department and to assist as a member of senior management in the development of IRETA and its local, statewide and national mission to advance recovery through the infusion science and practice. The position reports directly to the Executive Director of IRETA.
Specific duties of this office include:
Performing training and educational needs assessments and programs in various clinical areas related to the prevention, intervention, treatment and recovery from substance use, gambling and other addictions. The T.O. will be able to perform such training or oversee that those who do so under the auspices of IRETA meet the highest standards or professionalism and competence.
Supervision of all training provided by IRETA to ensure the adherence of all educational and training standards to all relevant professional continuing education credentials.
Setting the training agenda for IRETA and ensuring the completion of all curricula and reports related to that training.
Adhering and advancing the planned adult learning logic model of IRETA and completing all reports related to it.
Leading and designing revenue generating training and educational events and developing and managing a training departmental budget.
Capabilities to relate and communicate well with national leaders and a knowledge of learning principles that can be supportive of dissemination, skill building and mentoring to all professions working with substance use, the science related to it and recovery. Exceptional writing ability.
The ideal candidate will have an advanced degree in education and/or clinical care experience that can support their leadership and the capability to accomplish the objectives of this position. Knowledge of the science of addiction treatment and recovery is a significant plus as well as leadership and organizational change. Excellent salary and benefits. While home based in Pittsburgh, Pa. there is a requirement for some limited travel.
